The fall semester looms closer as we move into the final weeks of August. As you probably know, Spiritual Haze has a close relationship with the colleges of Worcester. Started by students at Clark University, the business caters to the entertainment and social needs of young adults in need of a space to unwind, hang out and listen to music in an off-campus location. Though adults of all ages enjoy our space, college-aged individuals comprise the better part of our customer base. This year, Spiritual Haze will elevate it's involvement in college life as it becomes the setting for Worcester Polytechnical Institute's orientation for international students and hosts welcome back parties for Clark University and students from the Colleges of Worcester Consortium. These events represent a valuable partnership between a student-run business and institutions of higher learning in Worcester--a partnership we intend to embrace and develop. We value our collegiate customers, not only for the business that they bring, but for contributing to the atmosphere that makes Spiritual Haze unique. Students are the source of our entertainment, art, and manpower. We have provided space for class projects, hosted fundraisers for student activist groups, and have done business with collegiate entrepreneurs (including our jewelery designer and vegan baker). We have our July calendar up and running, so check it out for events happening at the Haze this month. We have returning features such as the Blacklight Party and the band To the Sun, as well as new acts such as Fennario. Come on out for our Fourth of July party, that will feature live music, a DJ, and prizes for US History pub trivia and best "American" costume. With our Rubix Cube party and Hawaiian Luau, the Haze will be the place for parties this July!Hope to see you there,Susan
